Below is my discussion question for my American government class. Im looking for a simple answer, all parts of the question must be answered. Please don’t use too many fancy words or too much resource, im looking for something simple.
QUESTION:
In light of the Citizens United Supreme Court ruling campaign finance reform has becoming increasingly debated in American society. Would it be better to have publicly financed federal campaigns? Why/Why not? In the current system, where individuals and political action committees (PACS) are regulated in how much they can contribute directly to candidates, but not limited in how much they can spend on independent expenditures (unsolicited contributions), is this a reasonably effective system? Explain.
