Reflect on a time when a significant relationship in your life ended. It may be due to a death, a break-up, a location change (i.e., family move), a coaching change, a graduation, etc. Describe the loss of this relationship is detail, while responding to the following questions:
- Were you prepared for the end of the relationship or were you surprised?
- Was the termination explained to you, or were you left to figure out the details on your own?
- How did you cope with the loss of the relationship? Do you think you would have coped differently/more effectively had your answers to questions 1 and 2 been different?
- Given your personal experiences with loss, how might you approach the termination of your relationship with a client?
