Listening styles:
Task-oriented listening
Is most concerned with efficiency and accomplishing the job at hand.
Relational listening
Focuses on building emotional closeness to form or maintain relationships.
Analytical listening
Focuses on collecting information (hopefully from a variety of sources) before making a decision.
Critical listening
Focuses on evaluating a message. This type of listening is concerned with judging the quality, accuracy, and consistency of a message.
