Good sharing of insight. We have been discussing the relationship of care and culture on outcomes. Let us look further at the skill of being cultural competence. Smith (2018) shares the need for nurses to have training as well as evaluation that they are proficient in culturally competency and the delivery of appropriate care. With this being said, what skills do you feel would be needed to become culturally competent and what type of evaluation would assess competency?
